This sculpture originated as a response to Ann Hamilton's piece "Volumen" (1995).
Through the use of a metal wire structure covered by sown fabric, I created a volumetric circle that isolated a specific space, thus implying a separation between "in" and "out" of the piece. Even though the sculpture itself did not rise more than four inches from the floor, the viewers felt that, by entering the space within the piece, they had cross a barrier and passed into a different - perhaps even isolated, space.
