This video explores the role of gesture in cinema by juxtaposing borrowed action movie footage with action painting techniques. Romanticized, hyper-masculine worlds are weighed against each other through sound collage, extensive matting and re-photography. From within this comparison arises a gesture made with the artist’s own hand, that explores the abstraction and revelation of video information.
