Working for fictional A-1 Shelving, we were instructed to design a shelving unit for anything aside from books made of wood and sheet metal. We were then limited to a 3'x3' section of 1/2" birch plywood and 16 guage sheet metal. And then we were told we would swap designs and build one of our peers, and they would build ours. A tough but important lesson in designing for production. [ more information ]
