Biography:

Silvia Malagrino was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina
and has lived and worked in Chicago since 1982. Her innovative interdisciplinary work in multiple
media�including photography, installation,
and digital video�amalgamates critical
thinking with poetry, and metaphor with
documentation. She has exhibited internationally
and her work is included in the permanent collections
of the Museum of the Art Institute of
Chicago; the Milwaukee Art Museum, WI; and
La Biblioth�que Nationale de Paris, France,
among many others. She is the recipient of numerous awards
and prizes, including The National Endowment for the Arts,
The CINE Golden Eagle Award for Burnt
Oranges, and the Lorenzo De Medici,
First Prize Award in New Media at the 5th
Edition of the Biennale Internazionale dell� Arte
Contemporanea, Florence, Italy.
