Biography:

Tony Tasset is an artist who has worked in a variety of styles and mediums including sculpture, photography, video and film. In the last few years he has created several large-scale permanent outdoor sculptures. His work deals with universal themes and emotions through common pictorial languages. To this end he employs familiarity, humor, craft, sentiment, confession and shock. He makes iconic images about the current cultural moment from an individual perspective

Tasset received his MFA from The School of the Art institute of Chicago and his BFA from The Art Academy of Cincinnati. Tasset is currently a University Scholar at The University of Illinois at Chicago; was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship; and received The Louis Comfort Tiffany Award.

Tasset�s most recent exhibitions include �All Things Must Pass� at The Laumeir Art Museum and Sculpture Park, St Louis MO; �Sympathy for the Devil, Art and Rock and Roll since 1967� at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago IL; and �Into Me/ Out of Me�, MACRO, Rome Italy. His work has been reviewed in The L Magazine and in Artforum.
